So much to see and do at Family Fest and WKKG's Country in the Park!
Family Fest 2008! is a benefit event for Family Service. Providing a family-friendly event featuring food, games and live music for the enjoyment of families, this year Family Service is partnering with WKKG’s Country in the Park providing a full day of entertainment by
Elly Maze, Jim Ryser, Newbury Road, Jerry Mihay & Bobby K Owens of the Luckies,
Mark McKinney, 40 Years of College and more….so Save the Date now!
On-going free activities will be found at Family Fest 2008, with plenty to enjoy on Saturday, August 23, 2008 at Mill Race Park. With Tillie the miniature fire truck, clowns, duck pond, 2 moonwalks, petting zoo, football throw game, corn hole, face painting and Piñatas. Enjoy cotton candy, walking tacos, hot dogs, hamburgers, homemade pie, snow cones and much more throughout the day. The variety of this event fulfilled its promise providing entertainment for family members of all ages! From the stage, live music will play continuously throughout the day.
Presentations at Family Fest 2008 are designed to help in the effort to make a difference in the community.
Family Fest 2008 offers empowering programs for parents and children with puppets from Child Abuse Prevention Council’s Kids on the Block, Escape School presented by Myers Funeral Service teaching children how to recognize, avoid and escape potentially dangerous situations. Back by popular demand the K-ID’s BMV ID van will update and pass out new ID cards for kids enabling parents to better equip themselves for a quicker response if their child were missing, lost or abducted. Utopia Wildlife Rehabilitators Inc who provides medical care and wildlife rehabilitation will present extensive information and education on wildlife rehabilitation. A Race for Safety bike rodeo will be made possible by the Kiwanis, teaching kids safety techniques for bike riding.
